It has been said that there are more people making art than are buying
art
. That means that visibility is crucial if artists want their work
to be seen by buyers.

The visibility problem is worse for some very good artists who may not
be not savvy about the business of art, or who simply lack an essential
bit of knowledge about internet art marketing. As a result, these
artists are not able to successfully promote themselves or their art.
Some artists intuitively know that they want more from their art, but
may need help in order to verbalize, organize or categorize their
wants.

June 30, 2007 ArtVisions fine art licensing What is art licensing?

Quite simply stated: art licensing is the agreement between two parties, the user of the art (”licensee”) and the artist (”licensor”), sometimes with the help of a middle-man (”agent”) to utilize your artwork (a “property”) on a specific product for a designated time and territory. In return for the grant to use the art (”License Grant”), a fee (sometimes a “Royalty” – sometimes a “Flat-Fee”) is paid to the licensor for the use of the art on the product.

Art licensing includes painted images, illustrations and photography–all of which can be reproduced successfully on almost any product.

Yep! That’s the SIMPLE answer to “What is art licensing”.

February 15, 2007 ArtVisions fine art licensing – A series of Mark Waller’s delightful paintings have been licensed for publishing by ArtLifestyles, LLC. More details later.

075-003 deep blue mother and childAfter several years in the workaday world, Mark Waller realized that he was meant to be an artist, and completed coursework in art (despite his formal training, he considers himself to be primarily self taught).

He looks at the world differently, and delights in keeping life simple and enjoying the priceless treasures that the world provides. His extraordinary world view translates directly to amazing surrealistic pieces incorporating his mastery of technique and keen powers of observation.
